NOON MEAL
Yam (or carrots) and Fennel stewed in whey with personal spice churna
Red lentil dahl with mustard seeds and spice churna Basmati rice with cilantro, raisins and cloves Paneer and Greens Roti Lime or lemon water Yogurt or buttermilk lassi spiced to suit: cumin, salt , saffron, or honey Cilantro Chutney Cilantro, figs or dates, ginger root, lime or lemon juice, salt. Blend and enjoy. Blackberry Crumble 1 lb. blackberries mixed gently with 1/4c orange juice and 1tsp of grated orange rind. (Lemon or lime juice and rind could likely be substituted? Let me know.) Mix in 2 tbs of flour, or arrowroot flour, or corn starch. 1 cup of rolled oats or rolled barley (barley for the weightwatcher) 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of ghee salt if you must sugar if you must. (try spicing the whip cream and/ or adding sugar to the whipped cream) mix the oats, flour and ghee. pack 2/3s of the mixture on the bottom and sides of a baking pan. Add the berry mixture. Cover the top with the remaining oats. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes (plus or minus depending on the pan used.) Serve with chai. enjoy. See chai recipe in the next Ayurveda Notes. |
